Buyer purchased brand new vintage $300 item from me. Receives it and claims it was different than listed. I pay for him to send it back. I receive it and of course it’s not the same item, it’s completely different and destroyed. He gets no refund. Today he leaves me a sarcastic neutral feedback, bordering on harassment. Ebay won’t remove it, even though he’s taunting me, even though it will effect my business. I check his feedback. He’s done this to three other sellers in 6 months, same item line, same neutral feedback to the people he’s ripped off. There’s scammers taking advantage of Ebay, and then there’s Ebay’s callous disregard for sellers. It’s become a joke.

I wanted to get rid of some of the items in my closet for more space and some extra cash. I sold my first four items with no problems, but after selling my REAL Chanel bag (for about $4,000 with proof of receipt and authentication), the buyer claimed it was fake or “not as described” and claimed a dispute.
I had decided to refund the buyer, not because she was right but because I had sympathy. Now, my PayPal account is frozen, the money was given back to the buyer, AND I did NOT even receive the bag nor did I receive a tracking number. I called PayPal several times to fix this issue; after uploading my files to prove the bag is real and that I had purchased it, I was guaranteed immediate rechecking on the account to see if they could pull the limitation. Nothing happened. Nothing. I have over $1,000 in my account and I can’t receive my funds. I did NOTHING wrong or illegal and now lost a bag and all the money I made for selling it. THANKS PAY PAL

Out of curiosity, three Brigham Young University students decided to set up an experiment on Tinder to see how many men would be willing to go to a froyo shop to meet up with a Tinder match that was good looking but provided no information about themselves. Using fake pictures, they accumulated about 250 matches, all inviting them to the same shop at the same date and time.
Over 70 males between the ages of 19 and 30 showed up. Hey, at least Yogurtland got some good business that day.
Not a horror story but it always makes me laugh when I think about it.
I worked at a big box store similar to best buy when the Wii u first came out. After months of Wii u's being impossible to find we finally had some stock in.
I was helping another customer on a busy day when a guy stopped me to ask the price on the Wii u.
Customer: how much is the Wii u console?
Me: it's $400 cad plus tax.
Customer: yeah that's too much money, can you do any better on the price?
Me: yeah for sure, for you I can give it to you for $399.99.
Customer: that's much better. I'll take two.

The dark web ruined my life. I only went on because I knew my uncle used to. He’s really good with computers so I guess I got my skill with technology from him. I’m not going to say how I got on there because I don’t want to make it easier for others to make the same mistake I did.
Anyways, after a little while of looking around, I found a link titled, “Hypnotizing Scenery.” I don’t know what compelled me to click on it. I hadn’t planned to click on anything at all. I just wanted look around a bit to “soothe my curiosity,” I suppose.
When I clicked on it though. Well it was weird. At first it was just a bunch of normal scenery. Pictures of, mountains, old castles, oceans. Normal stuff. Then the pictures started changing faster and faster. I couldn’t even really make out what the pictures were of anymore. I saw a lot of red, like maybe blood? On clothes, maybe a mattress? I’m not sure but it also looked like there were words over the pictures. I couldn’t read what they said in time before it switched pictures again. Suddenly it ended with a blank screen with white text that read, “Good luck.” I feel I should mention that this was all about 30 seconds. After it ended, I shut everything down and got into bed.
The next morning when I woke up, I had this horrible migraine. It just wouldn’t go away. When I went to school, everyone seemed so loud and annoying. This one kid, Anthony in particular, was driving me insane. He kept poking me with his pencil, as he did everyday. I’d tell him to stop but he would just laugh. As he did this, I kept thinking about how great it would feel to just rip his arm out of it’s socket. Maybe poke him with the pencil in throat, see how he likes it. I had decided. The next time he poked me, I would kill him. 1,2,3,4..poke. I snapped my head around, got up, ripped the pencil from his hand so hard he fell out of his chair. I got on top of him and held the pencil to his throat, pressing harder and harder, he was grasping at my arms trying to get me off of him but I felt stronger than ever. He couldn’t manage to push me off as a trickle of blood began to run down the side of his neck.
That’s when the principle, the vice principal, and three janitors managed to pull me off. Suddenly I heard all the screaming and commotion. All 35 students crowded against the wall in the corner with the teacher gasping for air, crying and backing up against her desk. My parents came and got me 20 minutes later. The cops were never called and I guess the kid’s parents decided not to call them and press charges, not sure why. I would have. I was expelled from school however and my parents were pretty angry. I don’t know what came over me but as I had that pencil against his throat, all I could think about was how great I felt. Invincible, free, powerful. Now I just felt like the same 16 year old, 5ft 3in, 120lb small girl I was the day before; and my migraine was back. Great.
I remembered that it had started to fade away as I tackled Anthony. I tried to get to sleep but all I could think about was how he got away. I wanted him dead. Bloody on the ground and gasping for breath. I wanted to kill him. I wanted to be that last thing he saw before he died. I couldn’t believe I was thinking this way. I’ve never been a violent person but now that I was thinking about it, I didn’t care who it was. I just wanted to kill someone. Not just kill them, but torture them. I decided to go back to that page to see if I could find some answers. It was that link that did this to me. Turned me into some kind of a monster. There it was, “Hypnotizing Scenery.” This time when I clicked on it though, it was a list. A set of rules. “Number one: Always finish the kill. If you don’t, the migraine will worsen quickly and you’ll be dead within 4 months. Number two: Take it slow. Don’t finish it off too soon or the migraine will return faster. Number three: Don’t be stupid; don’t get caught. Number four: Leave the mark. Something for them to remember me. A small “J” carved into their forehead. Number 5: You are my creation. I’ve made you to continue my legacy. Don’t fight it, it’s not worth it.” I’m now 26 years old and I’ve killed a countless number of people. Anthony was my first official kill, only 3 months after the incident, when I couldn’t handle the migraine anymore. I don’t think that I’m me anymore. My “creator” will probably see this and might end me but I wanted to write this as a warning before the monster takes over again. Don’t go on the dark web, it’s not worth it.

My store was closed down 3 days ago along with a handful of others, including 2 stores in Etsy's top 1%! 11 stores in total and counting, turnover exceeding $500,000
We were closed down through no fault of our own, we were closed down because Etsy's algorithm is simple and does not factor in that some Etsy stores use consultants to help optimise their store. There is no tiered login, as oppose to Amazon where there is. So Etsy has no idea which stores use consultants and which don't.
So what happened is a store on Etsy repeatedly broke IP and got several warnings from Etsy before being thrown off the site. Etsy's algorithm then did a sweep for IP addresses associated with that store. It highlighted an IP address owned by a consultant who all the effected stores use. They then searched for other stores linked to that IP address and closed us all down - as we were all clients of the consultants. No warning, no email, nothing. We all found out because we couldn't access our stores.
We all called Etsy to ask what was going on, and we were all met with an extremely rude reply which went something like 'You have broken IP infringement, your relationship with Etsy has ceased, do not contact Etsy any further, I am disconnecting this call'. It felt like I was talking to a robot.
I filed a case and was met with a generic legal email which literally had been copied and pasted. The only personalized bit about it was my name at the top. I felt like I was conversing with a bot. And their final email told me they would not respond to any other emails.
I called a further 2 times and spoke to 2 different agents and both acknowledged the issue and were on my side! yet neither would escalate it to a manager, neither would do anything to help. it was one of their agents in the first place who told me what had happened - yet still they won't act!
The service I have received is mind blowingly AWFUL, I cannot believe that no one will simply open their eyes and look into what we are saying. I personally spent 7 years building this store, I create genuinely hand crafted items, it is my sole income. What, now Etsy can just take it away? Yes they can and they have....
Just this week Amazon have been forced to change their T&C's for exactly this reason, now store owners get 30 days notice. See this article https://tcrn.ch/2SpmThb Etsy must be forced to follow suit.
I'm not going down without a fight. Please support your fellow Etsy store holders by marking up and spreading this news. Strength in numbers. Thank you!
