I sent $ 1000.00 to a friend through pay pal and then I cancelled the transaction the same day since my friend did not need it.I was told by pay pal that the money was never taken out of my bank account but my bank account showed the withdrawal.

After calling PayPal several times to no avail I called my bank and they said PayPal had my money.I called PayPal and finally after being on the phone for half an hour they told me that it would take a week to show on my account and after that I could transfer it back to my bank account..It had been three weeks by then that PayPal had my money. When it showed up in my account I made the transfer and it said it would take a week for the transfer.I asked the rep if I could expedite and she said to call my bank. The bank told me what PayPal needs to do so I called PayPal and I was on the phone for 45 min and the rep said that doing a check instead would be quicker so we went ahead with that and I kept telling her that it tells me it will take two weeks, and she assured me that she would fix it and the funds will be available in a couple of days .

Then I get an email from pay pal saying that it will be a couple of weeks for me to get the check and they also charged a fee.I called PayPal and spoke to their supervisors and complaint but other than saying sorry they did nothing about it. I am having to pay late charges on my bills because I don’t have the available funds.

"Went back to his place, presumably for sex, and the pillowcases were stained with blood. Place was filled with empty beer cans. Four, I kid you not, four rusty, hair-filled razors in the shower (all were his  — he lived alone). The sink was coated in hair and toothpaste. I was so disturbed. Then he told me he had a suspended license and a kid he never met, and I high-tailed it home." - Reddit user Crushed LaCroixCan

Recently, my friend Gabe got a job at Gamestop. 2 weeks ago he saw a mom come in with her son. He greeted them and the little boy flipped him off. Already off to a good start. The mom goes and checks out the NFC figure section while the boy looks at the games for the PS3/4. He grabs a copy of CoD and a Steam card and goes up to Gabe to pay for it. Gabe asks the mom to come up to the counter. She goes up there and Gabe explains that her son can't buy it without her permission because it was rated M. He then goes into detail about the game and the mom is enraged. She starts yelling at her kid and then calls her husband. Gabe is stuck there watching it all go down. He's trying not to laugh as well. The kid asks for him to scan the Steam card. The kid says he's gonna buy FNaF with it which makes this scene even better. Later the dad comes in with a bunch of his games and consoles and returns them. They stormed out without the games or consoles or gift card but with a puffy-eyed kid instead.

Just an average day at Gamestop.

This story goes way back to 2006, but I remember it like it was yesterday.

When I was 16, I had a really good friend a year younger who was deep into coding. I met him years earlier in a computer club in middle school and he had been integral in me becoming tech-literate over time. The guy knew 3 coding languages by heart in his 7th grade...

Anyways, he ends up telling me about TOR and all that while we were chatting with some friends in IRC after school. Some of the older guys had some really interesting stories and I, of course, dug real deep into them all. It didn't take long for me to download TOR and start looking up .onion links.

My first couple of weeks were spent clicking around, just trying to go deeper and find different things. I was saving all the good links I could find in a notecard. I found various things like a dark-web search engine, something similar to a hidden-wiki, a few conspiracy sites, the usual drug stuff, porn I wanted to be nowhere near, and even a hitman forum.

The thing that made me uninstall TOR came about 2.5 weeks into using it almost religiously after school. I had stumbled on a forum, probably something along the lines of "Think.EvIL Forums" or some crap. It was behind a wall of about 4 or 5 different forums linking deeper and deeper. All of the banter was about really dark topics. Raping, torture, long-term abuse tactics, cannibalism, you name it.

As with anything on the dark web, most the posts were either weeks or months old. There were a few sub-forums that were more active than others. However, when looking at the main page and seeing which post had the most recent, there was something posted within the last hour.

It was a link.

"Red-room going live soon - (onion jargon here).onion"

At this point, I was hit with a wave of emotion. Like none I had ever felt before. I was washed over with a wave of ice, frozen in my seat. There was a looming terror of what it could mean. I had only heard a couple things about Red Rooms before coming upon this. Only the most potent of teenage curiosity fueled my finger to copy and paste the link.

What I saw is exactly what has been described by other accounts that have been posted. As such, bringing up the more gorey no-sleep bits is a bit hard for me to think about, let alone write. Details will be omitted. It was a live webcam chatroom. Inside what looked to be an abandoned house, was a person sitting on a chair sobbing with a pillowcase covering their body and someone else moving around stuff. The person moving around was the Admin of the chat session and he came closer to the camera and uncovered the woman as she jumped in terror from that act alone. A woman with duct-tape on her face and a man with a black t-shirt over his head (or something similar). After welcoming people to "the show," as the woman cried he asked in type what the crowd wanted to see and how much they'd pay to see it. I just remember being sat there in sheer terror, half trying to figure out how to help this lady and half completely frozen stiff. The details are still a bit blurry so even if I wanted to add them, it's difficult to do. However, someone offered $500 for something along the lines of beating the woman with a baseball bat.

I think I started crying and, to be completely honest, remembering it this much is about to bring me to tears again... The screams haunt me. The man who paid $500 for that asked the Admin to end her with a knife immediately... Someone had then asked me why I wasn't talking and iirc, I pulled the plug on my computer and called my friend.

I had told him what happened, and all he said was, "you've probably just been reading too many stories and fell asleep at the computer and had a nightmare."

Because of all the stories that float around about the dark web, no one ever believes this story. Yet it happened. Every time it comes back in my mind I pray that it was just a snuff film with a bad budget... But the screams and blood were too real for that.

I have been selling on Etsy since 2007 with over 5,000 seller reviews and have sold over 46,000 items.  On Friday, I logged in and noticed a banner saying my shop had been suspended and to check my email how to reactivate the account. I quickly checked my emails and there was no email from Etsy.  I checked my spam/junk folder and no email again.  My heart sunk and I was completely devastated.  I have no idea why my account would be suspended.

Upon further digging with my VA (virtual assistant) we learned that her Etsy account was also suspended.  And then we found out after more digging that 4 other accounts that my VA works for are all suspended on the same day!  None of these accounts are related and none of them received an email why they were suspended. I think it's awfully suspect that all of these accounts were all suspended with one common denominator of a Virtual Assistant that has permission to access all of the different accounts.  She even uses a VPN on each different account just to be safe, but somehow something went wrong.  The other marketplaces I sell on like Amazon have a way for me to add my VA as a "permitted user" under the account so nothing would get flagged as being suspicious or related.  Why would Etsy not have the same feature?

I emailed through the Etsy page under the Contact Us page on Friday morning.  I have heard NOTHING all weekend.  I was trying to be patient and think maybe it's because it's the weekend, but here we are Tuesday and nothing all day either.  None of the other sellers have received any emails either. Phone calls to Etsy are pointless because the customer support person reads a script and tells us to "respond to the email we got".  Well no one got an email, and then the CS hangs up!  Completely unprofessional for a huge company and even worse than other marketplaces who actually do EMAIL and do tell you what you did wrong, and do allow you to submit an appeal to lift the suspension.

Yesterday, I emailed Etsy at [email protected] and explained everything and I am awaiting a response from them still.  I am completely flabbergasted that a shop can be suspended with no notice or explanation.  It has made me realize how unstable this marketplace is for selling. My business would be completely over if I had only be selling on Etsy.  I'm warning all sellers to please diversify as soon as you can.  You do not own your shop, and Etsy can and will shut you down even if by mistake and then NO communication.

Please, please help!  I need help in resolving the suspension and communication how to get it reopened.  At the very least, I would like to know WHY it was suspended and what was done wrong.

In October of this year I sold two items on Ebay for $355.00 net, with shipping a total of $383.91. I paid for the shipping at my post office. October 23, Paypal issued me a check for $315.72.
November 16, Paypal deducted $39.60 seller fee, from my credit card, stating only that it was a payment agreement with Ebay. This is a double charge of seller fees. Over the past several days I have been in contact with both Ebay and Paypal, but they each refer me to the other back and forth. No resolution.
It seems that the customer service representatives are reading from script pages. Also, I have referred the matter to VISA to see if they can resolve the problem. I would not resort to contacting the Federal Trade Commission, except that it seems that a number of their customers are having this problem, which could conceivably be in the millions of dollars of undue profit for Ebay and Paypal. PayPal needs to be stopped in their scamming ways.
