Rumors. I have heard so many from my friends and just people around my school about the Dark Web. From what i've heard, its a place where there are no rules. You could sell drugs, guns, and there are also some more darker things that seem humanly impossible to even think of. My friends have recently been telling stories about what they've seen on it, after finding a way to get into the hidden part of the internet. I decided I would like to experience too, so I asked my friend Ryan (not his real name) for guidance and to just be there since i'm too scared to go on it by myself.
He downloaded a virtual machine onto my laptop, a vpn, and some tor browser. Eventually, we were in. I wondered if what the others had said were true. Is it really that bad here? For about 3 hours, Ryan and I surfed the web. It was actually true. You could by drugs, and guns. Even hitman. Here is where shit gets crazy.
We're four hours in, and I click on a link to a website. Worst mistake I could ever possibly make. If I could go back in time, I'd never even think of going on the deep web. Sorry, I'm rambling. As I was saying, I clicked on a link being a fucking idiot. The website was mainly composed of what you would call minors, in the creepiest ways. The people weren't posing for a photo, they were taken by secret. Even some of them were sleeping. I didn't know how to feel. Uneasy? Scared? Or simply disgust?
As I was getting bored of the site, I scrolled down.. my jaw dropped completely. I simply glanced at Ryan, with a "WTF??" look. There were various pictures in this post. They were photos of me. One in school, going into my house, sleeping. I felt sick. Somebody had been watching me in my house, and took pictures. My heart was pounding and at this point I was shaking. I sat speechless until I could even utter a word. When I read the post aloud, this person knew everything about me. It was all listed in the post.
Ryan asked if I was okay, but of course I told him now. I buried my hands on my forehead, running my hands through my hair. I felt like crying, but I knew that wasn't my only alternative. We had to figure what to do. I clicked the persons profile (it was like a forum, maybe even Instagram). I wasn't the only one who had fell victim to this stalker. My friends were stalked too, even Ryan. Then I noticed something. The boy that had gone missing two weeks ago.. he was also stalked! Then, I could finally conclude what this website was. People were making bids on the people taken.. the boy was kidnapped and then sold to the highest bid.
Ryan and I immediately called our friends and told them what we had discovered. We all gathered in my room around the monitor waiting for one to speak up about what we should do next. Nick suggested we contact the police, but that could get us in bigger trouble. So Jason and Nick left a post-it note for them, hoping it would be resolved.
A month later, Nick and Jason completely disappeared. The police couldn't protect us from unknown strangers. After their disappearance, I moved away with Ryan. We've both been bought but somehow we escaped. We're still hiding.. waiting for the day that we finally get snatched up for our awaiting buyer. You best believe that I completely got rid of the computer or go on the Dark Web ever again. It's been 3 years since the incident. Never. Fucking. Again.

There used to be a small YouTube channel called “Sam's online food review”, it was run by my best friend Sam Rider, a channel full of videos that consisted of Sam eating and reviewing food and drink before a camera, his channel garnered around 10,000 subscribers, which although wasn’t huge, it was big enough for Sam to be dedicated to it, I can recall numerous times of sitting in the passenger seat of his car staying out of his shot as moments prior he announced he wanted to video himself trying something he picked up in the Store, only moving after he signed off with his “signature” thumbs up or down and his catchphrase “I like it” or “I loathe it” , he was liked for his friendly attitude and happy all round good guy persona he was well received by his audience, rarely were there any hate comments and when there was Sam would shrug them off and keep smiling, Sam was always Smiling.
“Sam’s online food review” went dark 7 months ago, no warning, no notice, just deactivated, I didn’t hear or see from Sam despite numerous phone calls and house visits to no avail, 6 days after his channel was deleted I called the police to do a welfare check on Sam, I was worried he had fallen ill or hurt himself, the police made entry into his property and found nothing, and Sam was declared a missing person.
A Week after Sam was declared missing, a dog walker discovered a horrifically mutilated corpse on a railway line, the body had severe lacerations all around the head, arms, chest and legs and was almost cut in two across the waist, the decomposing internal organs splayed out of the gruesome V shaped Cut, the autopsy report noted that although no direct cause of death could be confirmed, it was likely the large Slit in the throat that brought on death, the autopsy also turned up questionable findings, including the body missing its stomach and heart, long strips of flesh removed off the Chest, arms and lower back, and that the body was exsanguinated, the scene wasn’t remarkably bloody yet the body was almost completely drained of blood. Two weeks later the police had identified the deceased, despite the damage that had occurred to the corpse the teeth were intact enough to get a viable reference for dental records, my worst fears for Sam were realised, it was him. The police investigated, but could not find forensic evidence of any other person being on the scene, they eventually came to the conclusion that he was hit by a passing freight train, the Lacerations and disembowelment attributed to being dragged under, and the missing organs explained away as being eaten by wildlife, a fox maybe.
Sam's Mother decided it was best to cremate what remained of her only son, I stood next to her as the Beech coffin was pulled into the large furnace, as the door closed and the gas jets ignited with a whoosh, she broke down into tears, and so did I, I stood there sobbing for the entire 90 minutes it took for one of the people I grew up with an shared so many memories with was vaporised.
I mourned my friend and done my best to move on, and it was going well, I got distracted, got a new job, started dating a girl I met through my work, a few months passed and even though I missed Sam things were going well, right up to the point when I was browsing Reddit at 3am that I received a Facebook message from the account of my dead friend.
I froze, seeing his Profile Picture in the messenger bubble, a picture taken during good times, Sam's wide smile plastered on his face, I felt a sudden chill, a profound sense of fear enveloped me, you know the fear that makes you cold, and your limbs ache as the slow drip of adrenaline spreads throughout your body, With dread I opened the message, it was a Link to a file sharing website, I stared at the seemingly random amalgamation of numbers and letters that made up the URL my head racing through what the hell was on the other side of the link and more importantly why did my dead friend send me it, my hand seemingly on autopilot brought the cursor above the link, with my gut instinct screaming no, I clicked on the link
Before my finger had lifted from the click, I immediately regretted what I just did, chrome opened a new tab to the website, the screen was Gray, apart from a black a rectangle in the middle of the page which had a play button over it, I stared at it unwilling to click, what I was scared of I did not know. Around 10 seconds had passed then the screen refreshed, instead of the play button the rectangle had the words Auto playing in 5 secs in bright white on it, I watched as the numbers counted down trying to understand what was going on.
An abrupt buzzing noise made me jump, the video began to play, the camera was pointed at what appeared to be a grimy white tiled surface, I could hear the sound of muffled whimpering followed by footsteps of someone approaching the camera, there was some slight rusting noise as the camera was adjusted, the screen blurred out as the camera was turned, when the camera came back into focus, I let out a choked gasp, in a the middle of a white tiled room, Sam lay on his back on a stainless steel table, his eyes wide in pure unfiltered terror, the light of a single bulb hanging over the table reflected off the sheen of sweat that coated his forehead, his naked chest rising and falling rapidly in panic, he looked into the camera and attempted to yell, the noise ,muffled by a tight cloth Gag that was bound around his head, his hands were also bound together tightly with Duct tape , I stared at the screen feeling increasingly sick, my brain failing to grasp what was going on, before I could even comprehend what was happening, the sound of Sam squirming and whimpering was interrupted by a high pitched:
welcome to Sam's Online Food review, today we have a special treat
The mocking tone came from behind the camera, Sam’s panic increased, he started jerking his body trying to free his hands,
The voice continued
today we will try what is considered a delicacy in many countries, although usually a forbidden one that is
The camera zoomed out slightly, and a man appeared in the frame standing in front of Sam, he was dressed in a white coat with a red striped apron on, he wore a butcher's hat and a cloth face mask, in his rubber gloved hands he Held a large red handled butchers Scimitar and in the other he held a sharpening rod, the man started running the knife up and down the blade in a smooth fashion, the steel on steel making a smooth “shhhk shhhk shhhk” noise, Sam’s panicked muffled yells growing stronger
The man placed down the sharpening rod and walked around the table, Sam turned his head and started what sounded like desperate pleading with the man,
“poor little lamb” the man cooed, “it won't hurt long and you'll be delicious” even from here I could see that tears filled my friends eyes, as he struggled the man rolled Sam onto his front and pulled his head over the edge of the table, the man then walked out of shot and returned with a metal bucket, he placed it on the floor below Sam’s head, in a swift motion he grabbed A tuft of Sam's Hair and lifted his head, and started slitting his throat, Crimson burst from his neck and splashed over the bucket and onto the floor, My friends body jerking uncontrollably as blood spewed out of his neck like a volcanic eruption, as i watched this happen I threw up, I fell out of my chair in horror, I pulled myself away not able to see anymore, I fell again by the door, the speakers of my computer loud enough to hear what sounded like slicing and grunting, I lay curled up in the corner sobbing amidst a panic attack. The minutes feeling like hours, when the sounds stopped, I shakily got up and walked to my computer, avoiding the pool of sick on the floor I forced myself to look at the screen, the page had closed, and chrome displayed the Reddit screen, the Facebook tab had 1 notification, I didn’t want to click it, but I willed myself to, it was a message from Sam:
I Like it

So, I’m assuming you guys have heard of these online Recipe Box services. Companies like HelloFresh or Blue Apron that deliver high quality ingredients and cooking guides so their customers can create restaurant style meals in the comfort of their own kitchens.
Well my Girlfriend and I adore them. One of the highlights of our week is opening the packages to discover which delicious, healthy meal we’ll be making together. It’s not only brought us closer together as a couple, it’s actually helped us lose a couple of pounds, since we’ve opted for the low fat menus.
Now, I use Tor browsers to access the Dark Web. Not for anything weird, I don’t buy drugs or stolen electronics, nor do I venture into the seedier parts of the internet’s underground. I know it’s there; I just don’t care to see it.
But on one little browsing session, I came across a Recipe Box service that appeared to be exclusive to the Dark Web. It was called Yu-Go-Cook. It only accepted Bitcoin payments, but it promised to be the most exciting, adventurous meal delivery service available.
I signed up without a second thought. My girlfriend would be in for a delectable surprise.
The first Recipe Box arrived exactly on schedule.
We were already making awkward jokes about the probability of being tricked into consuming human flesh sent by some Dark Web psychopath. Yet as we popped open the box and saw that the ingredients were indeed of the highest quality, all our fears dissipated.
That doesn’t mean it wasn’t an unusual meal plan. The Filet of Giy came with a large, bright-white slab of meat along with little baggies of potent smelling herbs. Galangal from south east Asia, Pandanus from the South Pacific, along with all manner of seasoning that neither of us had ever heard of.
I admit we were both a little apprehensive to sample such adventurous cuisine, but once the divine smells of the meat and spices in our skillet had begun to waft around the kitchen, we were sold. It was without doubt the most delicious meal either of us had ever tasted in our lives. Rich, exotic flavors that seemed to effortlessly complement each other along with the most tender, mouthwatering meat I’ve ever purchased.
But something was wrong.
The next morning, both of us had to call into work. My girlfriend wouldn’t stop puking into the bathroom sink while I had diarrhea so bad that it left me painfully dehydrated.
I emailed the customer complaints department of Yu-Go-Cook, pretty angry that their meal had gotten us so goddamn sick. The reply came back almost instantly. Apparently they were inundated with complaints since one of the ingredients in the last batch had not been sourced properly, I had no idea what that meant, but I found their offer of a full refund and a free meal kit to be very reasonable.
There was, however, a caveat. The meat we’d been sourced was from a very rare sea creature, one on the endangered species list and therefore highly illegal to purchase or consume. We were instructed not to contact any local emergency services, since this could result in our arrest and detainment.
We’ve waited days now and nothing has arrived. Each of us has been too sick to leave our apartment, but we’re not yet desperate enough to call 911. We just don’t have the cash to spare for something like that and I’m terrified we’ll be arrested if the authorities discover what we’ve eaten.
My girlfriend has been sleeping for almost 24 hours now, she’s so weak. Her skin has turned from healthy pink to a sickly pale, last time I checked on her she actually looked kind of grey. She was wheezing too, her mouth gaping as she gasps for fresh air. Almost like a fish when it’s trapped out of water. I’m really worried about her, I’m scared she’s dying.
I feel really woozy but I think the meal delivery guy has arrived. He’s been wandering around the hallway outside for a while now. I’m not sure how long, I’m losing track of time, but it must be them. I hope it is anyway.
I checked the peephole on our front door. The guy wears a weird looking rubber uniform and a small face mask with ventilators on it. I called out to him but he won’t reply, he just stares back at the peephole with that dark visor covering his eyes.
He’s been watching, waiting, taking notes while other men in rubber uniforms and face masks arrive. I don’t recognize the symbols on their clothing or equipment. They carry a lot of equipment, medical looking stuff.
But something tells me…
…they’re not here to help.

Something happened to me a few weeks ago that I planned to keep secret but recently it has been eating away at me and I need to speak about it. The situation involves the Dark Web but it isn’t like all the other stories you hear of some unsuspecting soul learning of the Dark Web through a friend, going on it for the first time and browsing around until they inevitably come across some horrifying page that leave them sleepless for nights. No this is the opposite, to be honest, I’m actually the one who would be terrifying these curious souls. You see I’m a ‘Dark Web Prankster’ meaning I spend my free time on the Dark Web messing with unsuspecting strangers, I join chatrooms and send them links to gory but obviously fake videos, I play similar videos in place of my webcam in private chats tricking the other user into thinking they are chatting with a psychopathic killer. My favourite trick though is taking control of their cursor, manipulating the chatroom and making the site unclosable unless they turn off their machine, this one gets the most screams and appaled expressions and it is all achieved through running some simple bash scripts. Now some people may think this is cruel but I see it as a service, a free one at that, you see these people come onto the Dark Web for these kinds of experiences, they hear somebody tell a scary story of their experience on the big bad Dark Web and they want to be able to tell similar stories in a sad attempt to be interesting. They come looking to be terrified and I ensure they aren’t disappointed, of course, I get my own enjoyment out of it so it’s a win-win but recently this has all changed, if you fly too close to the sun you will eventually be burned; I am burning.
The night started like any other, I got back from work, made some dinner and after washing up I logged onto my PC and got to work. I jumped around a few chatrooms but they were unusually quiet or taking way too long to connect and when they did connect people left before I got a chance to mess with them. Eventually, I was able to keep someone around for more than a few seconds, they were some bald dude with a gnarly scar across their nose. His ears and face were both heavily pierced and he had a python tattoo wrapped around his neck - a tough guy, they were always fun to make cry like a baby. The way I usually do these pranks is I keep the screen blank until I see the person then I choose from the collection of cam clips I have and slowly escalate it from there. For this specific instance, I chose a clip of a cute girl who starts by smiling and waving. The man smiled back and began typing until a message popped up,
Hi, you are cute.
Thank you, I like your tattoo :)
We went back and forth typing and discussing ourselves until I decided to start the fun. I took down the video of the girl and replaced it with a video that starts with a man tied to a chair, a masked man then begins to beat the man in the chair with a hammer, to my surprise the man didn’t seem horrified instead he began to wholeheartedly laugh before sending another message
Funny but I preferred the lady
I replied telling him to shut up or the girl will get it next, once that message sent the man’s laughter stopped and he began to stare into the camera with a cold, emotionless gaze.
You shouldn’t be so rude.
That message was the beginning of the end for my pranking, he began to type again and when he stopped my jaw dropped and my fun was over, he sent the message and it was my full name, I quickly moved my cursor up and tried to x out of the chat but my cursor froze before dissipating before my very eyes, I opened my console and began to frantically type some commands but each one was denied, slowly the chat began to turn black with red font. I was in a full-blown panic now, my heart was racing and I felt like I had spikes sticking into my arms, legs and neck, I couldn’t control my breathing and I was sweating profusely. All the while that psycho was smiling into the camera his dirty yellow teeth glaring at me as he continued to type.
Let’s have a look, shall we?
The light for my webcam lit up and sure enough, down in the lefthand corner of the screen was my terrified face staring aimlessly at the screen, my brain was screaming instructions at me but my body couldn’t react; I was frozen in fear. Eventually, I snapped out of it and stood up to turn off my computer when he screamed in a deep, grisly, distorted voice
“WAIT!”
This stopped me in my tracks, I looked back at the screen and he was gone but only momentarily when he returned he was standing up leaning over directly into the camera, he lifted his hand balled in a fist and opened it revealing multiple human teeth which fell from his hand and bounced off the desk beneath, he then sent the last message
See you soon, boy
He smiled as the words in the chatroom began to fall off the screen while a loud screeching noise blared from my speaker, just then my computer switched itself off leaving me standing staring at my reflection on the darkened monitor. I must have stood there for at least five minutes before I snapped out of it and went to bed, I didn’t sleep that night, I couldn’t. Every time I closed my eyes I saw his horrifying smile and I heard the disgusting sound of the teeth hitting the desk, I called in sick to work the next day so I could try to relax and I went for a run to clear my head, it helped enormously and three days later I had put the whole experience behind me. However, a week ago - about ten days after the incident - something happened which has made me tell this story.
At about 1 AM I was awoken by some strange banging sounds, I got up in a haze and looked out the front window to see an old maroon-colored Toyota Camry parked right behind my car blocking it in. The banging had stopped but the strange car had put me on edge, I had lived in the neighborhood for a few years and I never once saw this car, I put on some clothes and began to walk down my stairs and towards the front door but as I did the banging began again, it was coming from the backdoor. I slowly walked towards the door my heart racing, the closer I got the louder the bangs whatever was causing it was trying to smash the door off its hinges. I wanted to scream “Get the hell away from my house” however for once in my life I made the smart decision and ran up my stairs and into my bedroom before barricading my door and calling 9-1-1. The operator picked up just as I heard a window smash from downstairs
“THERE’S A MAN IN MY HOUSE, HE’S TRYING TO KILL ME!” I screamed before she responded telling me to calm down and to tell her my location, she asked me to stay on the line and that a squad car was close by. I heard heavy footsteps stomping up my stairs and towards my door before stopping, the operator asked was I still there but before I could answer her inquiry the man started to attempt to knock down my bedroom door, the bangs on the door were deafening. The operator kept pushing me to respond but I couldn’t I was transfixed on the door and how with every sickening thud that psycho got closer and closer, suddenly I could hear sirens in the distance and the banging stopped followed by the sound of quick steps speeding down the stairs and shortly after the sound of a car starting and speeding away. A few minutes later the lights from the sirens illuminated my room, this broke me out of my frozen, fearful state I moved the barricade and ran down my stairs and out the front door to the police.
They questioned me for some time and searched around my house, they found shoe and axe marks on both doors, my bedroom door had a massive hole in it from where that lunatic was cutting it. I gave them a full statement and told them everything when all was finished they drove me to my friend’s house as I couldn’t stay at mine anymore. The next day I rang my landlord and cancelled my tenancy, which cost me my deposit and a cancellation fee, I’ve been staying with my friend while I look for a new place, I haven’t been sleeping at all I’m terrified that the psycho will find me again. The police found no evidence that could be used to find him bar the Camry but there are thousands of them in the state alone. I fear for my life every day and I’m unsure if I’ll ever be safe again.
Stay off the Dark Web, it is mostly used by jokesters but it only takes one wrong click to put your life in danger

They say that 99% of the internet is not accessible to traditional browsers. The world that lives beneath that which we see when we visit the dark web, contains things which defy normal understanding. It has become a breeding ground to all of man’s most perverse and dark fantasies. It’s a place where chaos reigns supreme.
My mother is not an extremely savvy internet user. In fact, most of the time she has little to no idea what she is doing on there. If she is in someone else’s Youtube account, or Gmail she often does what she is trying to do without paying attention to whose credentials she is using. Can you blame her though? Her generation didn’t grow up with computers. They are severely disadvantaged when it comes to that kind of stuff.
I on the other hand somewhat pride myself on being knowledgeable about computers and the internet. I don’t know how I would live my life without the opportunities it affords me. One could easily assume then that I would be someone who would take an interest in the dark web. And believe me it’s not for the faint of heart.
Now the thing is that I am very careful with what I do. I use a great VPN service and I know what I can and can’t click in order not to expose my IP address to anyone. After years of doing this though, I did however become a bit too careless and it just so happens that the time I did I was on my mom’s computer.
I was hanging with my family during the holidays and I got into an argument with my little brother, Tommy about a certain listing that I had seen on a dark net market search. He’s always been a bit of a sheltered kid, considering he has a cleft lip and my parents’ baby him like a toddler. So, I figured it was my responsibility to show him some of the real world every once in a while.
I had told him about this listing for a clown that you could hire for birthday parties that was for some reason being advertised on the dark web and he of course didn’t believe me. So, I showed him the listing and we read about how the clown would “provide your party with an exceptional experience. One that you would likely never forget.” Considering my knowledge of the dark web I was pretty sure it was not an experience you would want to remember.
After I showed him, I got distracted and went about my business doing other things. Somehow though, I left my browser window open on my mom’s computer. This was hands down the worst most careless slip-up of my life. One that I will likely never live down.
After I was done on there she used the laptop and, thinking that the clown was something my little brother wanted to do for his birthday, she went ahead and paid for him to come visit the house. After I found out what she had done we tried to cancel it, but I guess it didn’t work because that weekend a clown car pulled up out front of our house for Tommy’s birthday.
Out of the car stepped an old man in traditional clown make up with these pale bluish, white eyes like those of a blind person. Yet, he seemed to be able to walk up the driveway totally fine.
My mom, was very freaked out, and had my dad go meet him in the driveway. When my dad approached him, he tried to shake his hand but instead the clown just immediately pulled out three juggling balls and started tossing them up effortlessly.
My Dad stared at him for a moment in awe than began to guide him around the side yard into the back, where the rest of the party guests were. I was definitely a bit worried so I went to the backyard and the clown was already setting up for a magic show.
The guy looked freaky as Hell but everyone in the crowd seemed ok with it. So, I supposed I was being too judgmental and should just let him do his show. Plus, he had a nametag on that said Noisey, and considering he hadn’t said a word the whole time I thought that was pretty funny.
For the first trick Noisey took a quarter out and he pretended like it disappeared in his hand. Then he reached around the back of his head and pulled the quarter out from behind his ear. It was a pretty basic trick, but then he kept going with it. He pulled out quarter after quarter from behind his ear until there was a pile of change at least a few inches high on the ground beside him.
Everyone in the yard seemed impressed when they saw this. It really was an incredible trick. Then he picked up the pile of change off of the ground and put it in his shirt. Then he held the shirt up with his two fingers and launched the coins up into the air. Only nothing flew out.
The change had totally disappeared and in its place a bunny rabbit popped out. The crowd really got into this a few of them even got up and started putting money into his tip jar.
Then Noisey extended his hand out and pointed to Tommy. Tommy smiled, excited to have been acknowledged and stepped up. Noisey then pulled out one of those huge bubble making wands and had Tommy stand in this round tray of soap on the ground. Noisey then lowered the wand over Tommy and lifted it back up quickly covering him in a gigantic bubble. This was not an ordinary bubble though. It would not pop no matter what. Tommy would hit the side of it, and it wouldn’t break.
Everyone in the audience stared at this speechless, clearly they were watching something that wasn’t possible occurring before their eyes. After a few seconds of being trapped inside Tommy started to freak out and thrash against the side of the bubble. He began screaming and crying panicking.
“Hey! Let him out!” my dad yelled as he started approaching the clown. Noisey then looked over at him and put his finger to his lips, shushing him. He then lifted the wand up above my brother’s head and quickly brought it down over him. The bubble instantly disappeared, and so did Tommy.
Frantic my Dad charged toward Noisey but just before he could get to him the clown brought the bubble wand down over himself and vanished as well.
My dad screamed frantically looking around for the two of them. Realizing the gravity of the situation the crowd began to stand up and try to help my dad look for them. Then we heard a car start up in the driveway. Several of us sprinted to the front yard and saw the clown car pulling out and taking off down the street.
My dad and I along with several others got into our cars and peeled out, chasing after him. Then the clown car turned a corner and by the time we got there it had vanished. Upon the realization that we had lost him my Dad immediately broke down in tears. Screaming and pounding on the steering wheel. I had never seen him get like that before and I knew it was all my fault.
The following weeks were some of the worse I had ever experienced. Constant contact with the police and interviews, where everyone was relentlessly asking me about why I was on the Dark web and what I knew about my little brothers’ disappearance. I honestly feel like I was lucky they didn’t pin the entire thing on me and just close the case. I didn’t stop going on the dark web though. In fact, I started using it more.
I knew that if there was any way I was going to find my brothers kidnapper it wasn’t going to be using the old-fashioned police detective model. I had to track Noisey down once he decided to stalk again.
So, I created various fake identities on numerous dark net markets and made posting after posting for birthday party clowns to come perform at my son’s party. Then finally after several weeks of doing this I got a response. Only it wasn’t from Noisey. It was from another old man dressed as a clown who included a picture of himself in the posting with his response.
The weirdest thing was though the old man had a cleft lip and looked just like my little brother. Only he had aged at least 50 years.
I was really freaked out by this and had to know more but after I posted several times for him to meet me, I think he could tell I was trying to trick him because he would never showed up. I am going to continue to look for him as long as I can, but I think he knows it’s me and for some reason he doesn’t want to be found

It was my final year at College and I was ever closer to getting my bachelor's degree in business and political science. Despite all of my great prospects I was bored out of my mind. Although I had a decent amount of friends growing up I began to become more introverted due to my growing boredom from everyone around me. I desperately craved some sort of entertainment. That's where the Dark Net came in.
When it comes to the dark web I've always been intrigued by it, though not for the cliche reasons like curiosity or shit like that. Watching various creepypasta and allegedly true videos on the dark web were quite useful in informing me of the many dangers of the cesspool of the Internet. But now it was time to see the true side of humanity for myself.
I brought up the subject while hanging out with my friend Jason since I didn't know how to actually get on the dark web despite having TOR on my laptop. He's always been good with computers, so he was a perfect choice.
"So Preston you wanna go on the Dark Web huh. I know you like amusement and all that, but are you sure about this?"
"If I wasn't, would I be asking? Can you tell me how please?" I begged
"Okay fine, calm your tits. It's your funeral if anything happens."
After walking me through the process and setting up my laptop with the proper software it seemed to be more of a piece of cake getting in than I thought. He told me if I wanted a less advanced method of entering the dark web I should go on the Hidden Wiki via TOR which contains links to various Onion sites.
When the setup was completed Jason insisted that I don't go on any hacking pages or illegal sites like black markets for various drugs and guns. I made no guarantees before leaving.
When I was in bed with my girlfriend I went on the hidden wiki, my earbuds in to start off. Ironically, a black market site for illegal firearms was my first click. There were thousands of guns on there that you could never get from the civilian market unless you were a rich veteran or politician. Giant M60's, Barret 50 Cals, and Incendiary shotgun shells were all available to purchase with bitcoin. You could practically arm an entire state with these. Now this was the entertainment I needed.
But then things started to get weirder, and a bit creepier. I stumbled upon some sort of animal abuse page, and while I'm pretty desensitized to blood and death this was absolutely brutal. Pictures of decaying animal corpses, all in varied states of mutilation littered the site.
While I was quite disturbed by these grisly photographs, I was kind of numb to it. I can't really explain why, but I just was.
23 more minutes of browsing and I eventually stumbled upon some sort of chat room. A guy with a black mask on his face came into view, along with a big table, showcasing a chainsaw, scalpel, .44 Magnum handgun, and a large hunting knife with a serrated edge.
The camera then began to focus on a pale-skinned young woman clad in a skin-tight black dress. Tears were coming out of her eyes as she desperately struggled to free herself from the rope. The expression on her duck taped face said it all, this was all real.
A chat box then popped up as almost dozens of people flooded the room. They welcomed me as well before the masked guy started to speak.
"Which one?" Said the man, gesturing to the table.
A good portion said chainsaw, while another half chose the handgun or knife. Eventually, it became tied between chainsaw and knife. I just couldn't fathom what these sick fucks were typing. The fact they could just nonchalantly choose how to brutally kill someone with about as much emotional weight as eating Chinese takeout was just pure terror at its finest.
"A tiebreaker huh, well looks like I'll just have to pick randomly."
As he said this a second man, much taller and muscular than the first man came into view, also masked. He picked up the knife and .44 as he walked towards the woman, her muffled screams becoming louder as he picked where to stab her. After a minute he settled for her right shoulder, plunging the blade in so fast it could've dislocated her arm. She yelled another muffled scream of agonizing pain as the chat exploded with excitement.
Another person in the chat then remarked he didn't stab her slow enough. As a result, the man took the serrated top of the blade to the top of her nose. I closed my eyes, unable to watch as I heard the blade sawing through her nose followed by her screaming. I desperately tried to exit the site but nothing worked. Pressing Esc and Ctrl Alt had absolutely no effect at all.
The burly man then began to load two rounds into the .44. He aimed precisely at her chest as he fired, creating a gaping hole in where her chest used to be barely a second ago. Aiming again he raised the gun to her forehead, the force of the bullet so great it knocked her and the chair to the ground.
Incredibly horrified, I got up from the bed, careful to not wake my girlfriend up as I went into the garage to get my screwdriver. I unscrewed the bottom of the laptop before removing the battery, finally shutting it down. I had to sit down for a moment to collect my thoughts about what I had witnessed before going back to bed, Chloe was luckily still asleep, though I didn't get any that night.
When I woke up Chloe noticed how uneasy I was. I assured her it was nothing as she continued to persist. I called Jason to tell him about last night after she left for work. He was just as freaked out as I was. I asked what I could do because I couldn't possibly call the police due to having been on the other illegal sites. Instead, he advised me to completely destroy the laptop and hard drive which I did.
3 weeks after this Chloe gave me a letter that had no name, address, nothing. I asked her where this came from to which she had no idea. Yeah, definitely was a pretty stupid question at the time.
I opened it and I was welcomed with a sheet of paper that read "Come back again sometime" written in what I deeply hope was red ink. I already had a strong feeling of where it was from.
It's now been 10 years since that experience and I am now 29. To this day I still have nightmares about that poor woman's death. I still wished I could've saved her, the fear in her eyes forever haunting my soul.
